Mayday Drill

Mayday drill training

The Manchester Fire Department is committed to staying well trained and current on techniques used within the fire service. Our members have all committed to participate in a minimum of two department wide training sessions each month. Generally one session is dedicated to fire operations, while we focus on rescue techniques for the second. In addition we regularly anticipate other situations we may face and try to prepare for them by adding additional training.

Besides in-house training, our members are often presented with outside courses and training available to further our skills and knowledge. The Vermont Fire Academy regularly offers Firefighter I/II courses, and multiple times our station has hosted these courses.

Our training officer is determined to keep our crew prepared for anything by introducing the department to new scenarios and training sessions. Please check back to this page for updates regarding fire service training opportunities in the Southern Vermont area that are open to all local fire service personnel.
